This is where you can create and vote for video requests.

I would like to see a video about ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Volume rendering using ray casting shaders

A simple volume rendering tutorial on how to construct 3d object from 2d images similar to this implementation in three.js and webgl http://www.lebarba.com/

    • Isometric tiled map game

I'd really, truly enjoy to see the orthogonal tiled map game tutorial created one year ago but with an isometric map instead, possibly with different heights.
Especially things as pathing, knowing when to render the sprites to correctly render the map and movement.

          • Non-tile based maps

I'm trying to make a map, birds eye view, with a fully illustrated background and map objects on top of it with polygon hit boxes but every piece of information about maps I find online is about tile based maps only. I would love a video explaining how to do this, thanks!

            • Proper box2d time-steps (Interpolation and such)

There are several tutorials on how to implement a proper box2d timestep, however few of them pertain to libGDX and they all use different methods. I frequently encounter stuttering bodies and glitchy behaviour with my box2d worlds, so I'm wondering what the proper way of implementing a box2d timestep is!
              Cheers

              • using 3D and libgdx

In libgdx it is also possible to create 3D games. It would be cool to see some easy examples. From export an easy Blender 3D object into using it in libgdx.

                • IAP - In app purchases

                  Hi dermetfan,

Awesome requests series. My proposal for the next requests episode would be one were an in app purchasing system would be implemented in a test project (libGDX-IAP). IAP are the new form and preferred method of monetization, it is one of an apps most important features a side from the core game mechanics.

                  Thanks for considering this request,

                  Antoine

                      • Scene2d integrated with Box2d using an Actor with several bodies and joints.

There are many tutorials using single body Actors that explain connecting scen2d to the box2d world. However there are no videos on the more complicated task of connecting scene2d to box2d with an Actor that contains several bodies and joints. There are tutorials showing the connection between two Actors either for collision detection or a mouse joint but none that show a multiple body actor that can be moved around the screen vis mouse or touch.

How to convert 2D tilemap (Build with TiledMap) to a list of Box2D Object, to manage a correct physical detection model ?

Exactly, I would like to discover a converter to "translate" some 2D maps block to some valuable Box2DObject to use the physics engine.

                                    • Some example methods of implementing dialogue trees in libGDX

People always wonder in games how, for one example, when a character is offered a decision to make when talking, they are able to select different options, and different dialogue will be spoken, depending on what the character selected. What is the best way to implement this in libGDX?

                                      • How to display dialogue text, like an RPG (one character after another in a sequence, instead of all at once)

When people talk in an RPG, the text advances character by character until it reaches the length of the textbox it is in. I would love to see how this is done! I've been dying to know for a long time the most efficient way to do this in libGDX.

                                        • Nuggeta tutorial for online multiplayer gaming

Nuggeta is a cross-platform API for online multiplayer gaming. I have installed it into libGDX and got the initial connection working under the various platforms. A whole lot easier than Google Services and the same code works for all platforms. I'm not sure where to go from here. There is very little documentation or examples for running libGDX and Nuggeta except for setting up the initial connection. A tutorial on how to setup the various features would be nice. :)
